B2B marketplace for agriculture: RFQs for farm inputs, machinery and agricultural services

Markonex has a dedicated agriculture category with eight subcategories, from seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to agricultural machinery, irrigation and greenhouses. Farms and agricultural companies request price quotes from several suppliers at once, and manufacturers, distributors and dealers find new customers.

Who buys and who sells in agriculture on Markonex

The platform connects companies that farm land or raise livestock with the companies that supply them with inputs, machinery and services, and with the companies that buy their produce.

  • Buyers: crop and livestock farms, agricultural companies and cooperatives, companies running greenhouses and polytunnels, processors and distributors that buy agricultural products.
  • Sellers: manufacturers and distributors of seeds, fertilisers and plant protection products, agricultural machinery dealers, irrigation system companies, greenhouse builders, farms selling their produce to other companies, agricultural service companies.

Which subcategories the Agriculture category covers

You choose the Agriculture category and one or more of the subcategories below. Transport and storage of produce are in Transport & logistics, including refrigerated transport, and biomass is in Energy.

  • Seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.
  • Agricultural machinery and irrigation.
  • Livestock.
  • Organic farming, greenhouses and polytunnels.

How to request quotes for farm inputs or machinery

You publish an RFQ with a title, description, category, location and validity period, 30 days by default. In the description you state the product, quantity, the period when you need it, the delivery place and the payment terms you want. A scanned list of inputs or a voice note can be turned directly into an RFQ, and the AI assistant helps with the description.

Matching suppliers send offers, which you negotiate in rounds with each of them, with messages and attached documents. For bulky goods distance matters: in product and company search you filter by radius, region, county or city and can search around up to 5 locations.

Usage examples

The scenarios below show how the platform can be used in this industry. They are illustrative examples, not cases of real customers.

  • A crop farm is preparing the spring campaign and needs seeds and fertilisers. It publishes one RFQ for each, with quantities and delivery period, and compares the offers received from several distributors.
  • A company running greenhouses wants to upgrade its irrigation system. It uploads the scanned list of components, from which the AI assistant prepares the RFQ, and negotiates in rounds with the interested irrigation companies.
  • An agricultural machinery dealer imports its catalogue from an Excel file and creates a follow filter for the Agricultural machinery subcategory, with the locations where it has service points. It gets notified about every matching RFQ.

ANAF verification of suppliers and buyers

At sign-up, the platform queries ANAF, the Romanian tax authority, by CUI (company tax ID). If the company is active, the profile gets the “ANAF verified” status, and the company data held by ANAF is filled in automatically. If the CUI does not exist or the company is inactive or deregistered, sign-up with that CUI is blocked.

Company status is rechecked twice a month, and companies not verified by ANAF are marked distinctly in results. Each supplier profile shows its locations and public financial statements. It helps you see what kind of company you are dealing with before a seasonal order.

For manufacturers, distributors and dealers

You list your catalogue with price range, currency, categories and subcategories, or import it from an Excel file. You create follow filters for RFQs in your subcategories and areas and get notified when a farm publishes a matching request.

Agreement and contract

After negotiation, you confirm the agreement in two phases and choose whether you need a contract, generated from a template or uploaded. Markonex does not process payments or deliver goods: payment, delivery and payment terms are agreed directly between the companies.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell my farm’s produce to other companies on Markonex?

Yes, if the farm is registered as a company, with a CUI. You list the products in the catalogue, with price range and currency, and follow the RFQs published by processors, distributors or other companies that buy agricultural products.

Can I request quotes for agricultural services, not only for products?

Yes. The Agriculture category covers agricultural products and services. In the RFQ you describe the work you need, the period and the place, and matching is based first on the description.

Does Markonex check the approval of plant protection products?

No. The platform verifies the company with ANAF by CUI, not product approvals or authorisations. You ask the supplier directly for the required documents, for example as documents attached in the negotiation.

Does Markonex deliver or finance farm inputs?

No. Markonex does not sell, deliver, finance or process payments. Delivery, payment and payment terms are agreed directly between buyer and supplier, according to their agreement.
