Who buys and who sells raw materials on Markonex?

The platform connects companies that turn raw materials into products with companies that produce, import or distribute them wholesale. Any company can be a buyer and a seller at the same time.

• Buyers: factories and production units, metal, wood or plastic processing workshops, packaging companies, printers, furniture makers, garment companies and procurement departments.
• Sellers: raw material producers and processors, importers, wholesale distributors and warehouses, cutting centres and companies reselling industrial consumables.

Which raw material subcategories exist on the platform?

The "Raw materials" category has 8 subcategories, which you choose when you publish an RFQ or list a product. You can pick several subcategories for the same product, and search also works by meaning, not only by category: the category helps rank results, it does not hide companies from other categories.

Processing services, such as metal cutting, plastic injection or wood processing, sit in the "Manufacturing" category, where packaging also has its own subcategory.

How do you request quotes for industrial raw materials from several suppliers?

You publish an RFQ with a single product or a product list, with the quantity of each line, the delivery location and the validity period, 30 days by default. From a text, a photo or a PDF, Word or Excel document, AI extracts the list lines, and you check them before publishing. Technical sheets, required certificates or drawings are attached directly to the request.

In the description you state what matters for production: the grade or quality of the material, dimensions, tolerances, packaging, delivery rhythm and whether you need repeat deliveries. Matching suppliers send offers on each line, and you compare the offers line by line and can award lines to different suppliers. If you already know the supplier, you send a direct price request with "Request price", from its profile or a product page.

How do you sell raw materials and industrial consumables to other companies?

You list your catalogue with a description, price range, currency, categories and an image, or import it from an Excel file, up to 1,000 rows at a time, with a preview before saving. Buyers find you through semantic product search and can send you direct price requests.

You create following filters for your subcategories and areas and are notified in the app, by push or by email when a factory publishes a matching RFQ. You offer on the lines you can deliver and negotiate in rounds, up to 20, and in every round the changes since the previous round are highlighted.

How do you check a raw materials supplier before ordering?

Each company profile shows the data taken from ANAF by CUI: legal name, CAEN code, VAT and e-Factura status, registered office, plus the public financial statements of recent years. Company status is re-checked twice a month, and companies not verified by ANAF are marked distinctly. The "Verified by the platform" badge shows that the Markonex team has also validated the company based on documents.

After negotiation, one party accepts the offer and the other confirms the agreement, then you choose whether it comes with or without a contract, generated from a template or uploaded. A platform-verified seller can issue the invoice from the agreement and send it to e-Factura.

The scenarios below show how the platform can be used for raw materials. These are illustrative examples, not cases of real customers.

• A metal fabrication workshop publishes an RFQ with a 6-line list: sheet metal, rectangular tube and profiles, with thicknesses and quantities, and compares the offers on each line.
• A packaging factory requests monthly offers for corrugated cardboard and kraft paper, delivered to Prahova, and attaches the material's technical sheet.
• A furniture maker looks for boards and kiln-dried lumber, and a distributor following the "Wood and lumber" subcategory is notified and sends its offer the same day.
• A polypropylene granule importer imports its catalogue from Excel, with price ranges per tonne, so it is found in product search.

Can you request raw material quotes from ChatGPT or with an AI agent?

Yes, if your company is verified by the platform. Through the Markonex MCP server you paste your materials list into ChatGPT or Claude, and the assistant prepares a multi-line RFQ that you publish after confirmation. A supplier can let a Markonex AI agent look every day for new RFQs in its subcategories and prepare offers at catalogue prices, which a colleague approves or rejects. Every commercial action runs only after a person confirms or approves it.

What does Markonex not do?

Markonex does not sell or deliver raw materials, does not process payments and is not a party to contracts between companies: price, delivery, payment and acceptance are agreed directly between buyer and supplier. The platform does not check quality certificates, safety data sheets or material compliance; you request and check these during negotiation.
