How a building materials distributor finds RFQs and sends offers straight from Claude

What kind of company is it and what problem did it have?

The scenario is illustrative: a building materials distributor in Cluj, with one warehouse and 15 employees, selling AAC blocks, cement, adhesives and insulation to construction companies and building supply stores.

Sales depend on speed: whoever answers a good request first has the best chance. The sales director, however, is always on the road, between customers and the warehouse.

How did it find customers before?

Requests came by phone, email or from existing customers. For new customers, the team searched ads and private tenders by hand, and some requests were seen too late, after the buyer had already chosen.

On Markonex, the company already had following filters and received notifications, but to send an offer from a phone the sales director had to open the platform and fill in the form. Now he does it in a conversation with Claude.

What do you need to work this way?

The connection is set up once; after that Claude works with the company's Markonex account. This scenario needs:

• Your company is verified by the platform (the “Verified by the platform” badge); AI assistants are available only to verified companies.
• A user with the right to manage MCP has switched the connection on for the company, in Markonex, under AI → MCP → Details.
• In Claude (web or desktop) you added a custom connector with the address shown in Markonex, under AI → MCP → “Connection and usage”, where you also find the up-to-date steps.
• When you authorise it, on the Markonex page, you tick only the permissions you need; read permissions are ticked by default, write permissions are your choice.
• Permissions used here: reading RFQs (rfq:read), reading company profiles (companies:read) and changing offers (offers:write, to send the offer).

Step 1: you ask for matching RFQs in your area

Claude uses Markonex search, which understands the meaning of a request, not just exact words, so it also finds requests written as “aerated concrete masonry” when you ask about AAC blocks.

   Find me the RFQs for AAC blocks and cement in Cluj from the last week.

   I found 5 active RFQs. The most relevant: 1) 3,000 AAC blocks 30 cm for a house in Baciu, open for 24 more days, ANAF-verified company; 2) an 8-line list for a block of flats in Florești, with AAC blocks, cement and adhesive; 3) 400 bags of cement for a precast company in Dej. Do you want the details of one of them?

Step 2: you read the request details before offering

Before the price come the terms: deadline, delivery place, quantity and the buying company. Claude reads the request and the buyer's profile, with ANAF data and public financial statements.

   The request: 3,000 AAC blocks 30 cm, delivery to Baciu within 14 days, unloading with the buyer's crane. The company is active with ANAF, VAT-registered, has three years of public financial statements on its profile with growing turnover, and is verified by the platform.

Step 3: you send the offer at your price, after confirmation

Sending an offer is a commercial action, so it does not go out directly. Claude prepares the offer, Markonex shows the summary and you confirm in the chat. The confirmation is valid for 5 minutes.

   The offer has been sent. The buyer sees it in Markonex and can reply with a counter-offer; negotiation continues in rounds, and every change in terms is highlighted.

Step 4: you quote only the lines you can deliver

On a request with a product list, the supplier does not have to quote everything. It can quote the lines it has in stock, and the buyer compares offers line by line.

   On the 8-line request in Florești, quote only the 25 cm AAC blocks at 11.50 lei per piece and the adhesive at 38 lei per bag, delivery in 5 days.

What changed for the sales team?

The sales director can answer a request in a few minutes, from anywhere, without looking for the right form. The offer stays in Markonex with all its terms, and negotiation continues there, next to the price history.

As an illustrative estimate, not a measured result: a company that answers the same day rather than three or four days later enters the comparison before the buyer decides, which improves its chances of being chosen.

What can Claude not do through Markonex?

Claude works only within the user's rights and the permissions ticked at authorisation. It does not send, accept or reject offers without confirmation, and in the activity log the action appears as “Name (via Claude)”, under the name of the person who confirmed.

• It does not issue invoices and does not send anything to e-Factura; invoices are read-only.
• It does not make or track payments; payment is agreed directly between companies.
• It does not change users, permissions or company settings.
• It does not invent terms: the offer contains only what you wrote and confirmed.
